Game Report: Thunder Roll To Win Over Shock In Stockton

Game Report

The Stockton Thunder earned their first win in FPHL history, holding off the Oceanside Shock 3-1 Saturday night at Adventist Health Arena in Stockton. Nick Wagner scored his second goal of the season for Oceanside (1-3-0, 2 points), but his short-handed tally in the final minute of the second period was the Shock’s only goal. Nolan Mix broke a 1-1 tie at 4:11 of the third period with his second goal of the season, and a late empty-netter sealed the deal. Chris O’Shaughnessy was strong in net once again with 34-of-36 saves. Petr Panacek and Ilnur Madiarov also scored for Stockton.

The Shock and Thunder will meet for a third straight time on Sunday evening at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, with a scheduled 5pm PDT faceoff. Tickets for “Stick it to Cancer Night” are available at frontwavearena.com.
